Woodborough Tennis Club is located in the Nottinghamshire village of Woodborough. It is a very popular community facility that has served several generations.
The club has two courts which were completely refurbished in 2022 with new nets, posts, and a relaid playing surface. As a bonus the facility is adjacent to beautiful playing fields behind the village hall on Lingwood Lane.
Membership fees go towards maintaining the courts. However, visitors are also encouraged to play on a pay-and-play basis.
As well as two tennis courts, members enjoy the services of a coach – Simon McBride – who is on hand to help.
Coaching is available for both adults and juniors.
There is an AGM each year around April in one of the local pubs, where everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about the club.

“I was fortunate to hear a concert given by Woodborough Tennis Club in a little town in Tuscany. The event was a great success due to not only the high quality of the choral sound and musical interpretation but also the variety and presentation of their performance. In a country noted for choral singing, Woodborough Tennis Club’s contribution is of the highest quality.”
Robin Stapleton – Former Chorus Director, Royal Opera House and Guest conductor, BBC Concert Orchestra.
“I was lucky enough to listen to the Woodborough Tennis Club Ensemble at the Nottingham Arts Theatre. I was blown away by the beautiful voices, arrangements and song choices. They were a very friendly group of singers who raised the roof with their voices. Wonderful - do have them for your event or at the very least go and see them, wherever they are singing.”
Review - Kirsty Farrelly - Marketing and Operations Manager, Nottingham Arts Theatre.
“A concert full of such contrasts and emotions demands not only beautiful singing but great attention to detail, clear phrasing, thoughtful articulation and communication. Woodborough Tennis Club excelled in all of this. They gave a thoroughly enjoyable performance.”
